Cristo Viene Baptist Church was born from a deep conviction that the Gospel of Jesus Christ has the power to transform individuals, families, and entire communities. Founded by a small group of faithful believers who gathered in Abbotsford, British Columbia, our church has grown from a humble fellowship into a thriving congregation of over two hundred members who are passionate about knowing Christ and making Him known.
Our name — "Cristo Viene," meaning "Christ is Coming" — reflects the foundational hope at the centre of all we believe: that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever, and that His return is our living hope. This truth shapes our worship, our relationships, and our service to the world around us.
As a Baptist congregation, we hold to the historic doctrines of the Christian faith, including the full authority and sufficiency of Scripture, salvation by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone, and the priesthood of all believers. Yet we are equally committed to being a warm, welcoming family where every person feels known, valued, and loved.
These values are not simply statements on a wall — they are the convictions that shape every decision we make as a church family.
Everything we do flows from our love for Jesus Christ. Worship is not an event we attend — it is a life we live, offered to God in every season.
We believe the Bible is the inspired, authoritative Word of God. Every ministry, every sermon, and every decision is measured against its truth.
We are more than a weekly gathering. We are a family who carries each other's burdens, celebrates each other's joys, and walks together through every season of life.
Faith without works is incomplete. We serve our city and the nations with practical love — meeting physical needs as a demonstration of spiritual truth.
We are committed to ongoing discipleship and spiritual maturity — believing that every follower of Christ is called to grow deeper in faith, character, and purpose.
Our congregation reflects the beautiful diversity of Abbotsford and the greater Fraser Valley. Every background, every language, every story is welcome at our table.

Cristo Viene Baptist Church traces its roots to a small gathering of believers who were united by a simple but profound desire: to worship God in spirit and in truth, and to share that worship with everyone around them. What began as a modest fellowship meeting in a community room has, through the faithfulness of God and the commitment of His people, grown into a registered charity serving the needs of Abbotsford and the surrounding region.
Over the years, our congregation has launched ministries for children, youth, women, and men. We have established outreach programs that serve the vulnerable in our community. We have sent members on mission journeys across British Columbia and beyond. And through every season of growth and challenge, we have remained anchored in the unchanging truth of the Gospel.
Today, as Cristo Viene Baptist Church continues to grow, we carry the same fire that ignited our beginning — a deep, unshakeable belief that Jesus Christ is the hope of the world, and that His church is the instrument through which that hope is declared and demonstrated.
