Practical love in action — Cristo Viene Baptist Church is committed to serving the real, everyday needs of families and individuals in Abbotsford and the Fraser Valley.
The Gospel is not only a message to be proclaimed — it is a reality to be lived. Cristo Viene Baptist Church operates a range of community programs designed to meet practical needs, address root causes of hardship, and offer the whole person — body, mind, and spirit — the care and dignity they deserve as an image-bearer of God.
Food insecurity is a growing challenge in the Fraser Valley, affecting families, seniors, and individuals across every demographic. Cristo Viene Baptist Church operates a regular food assistance program that provides nutritious groceries, prepared meals, and emergency hampers to households in need throughout Abbotsford and the surrounding area.
Distribution takes place through our fellowship hall, where recipients are welcomed with dignity and warmth. We partner with local food banks, grocery partners, and generous community members to ensure that our shelves remain stocked and our doors remain open to all who come. No application process, no judgment — just practical love extended in the name of Jesus.
Volunteers are the backbone of this program. If you have a passion for serving in this area, we would love to have you join our food assistance team.
Families today face immense pressures — financial strain, relational breakdown, mental health challenges, and the rapid pace of cultural change. Cristo Viene Baptist Church exists as a place of refuge, support, and hope for families navigating these realities.
Our pastoral team offers listening, prayer, and biblically-grounded guidance for individuals and couples facing marital challenges, grief, anxiety, parenting struggles, and other life difficulties. Where specialized support is needed, we maintain a network of trusted professional counsellors and community organizations to whom we make compassionate referrals.
