The mission of Cristo Viene Baptist Church is to glorify God by making devoted followers of Jesus Christ in Abbotsford, across British Columbia, and to the ends of the earth. We pursue this mission through four irreplaceable commitments: authentic worship, biblical teaching, compassionate service, and intentional discipleship.
We believe that the church is not a destination but a movement — a body of people called out of the world and sent back into it as ambassadors of the Kingdom of God. Every member of Cristo Viene is a minister, gifted and commissioned by the Holy Spirit to play a unique role in fulfilling this mission.
We do not measure success by the size of our congregation or the scope of our programs. We measure it by lives changed, marriages restored, addictions broken, communities strengthened, and hearts that have come to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour.
Our mission is expressed through four interconnected commitments that shape the life of our congregation.
Worship is our first response to who God is. At Cristo Viene, we pursue worship that is genuine, Scripture-saturated, and Spirit-led — not a performance, but an encounter. Every Sunday gathering is designed to bring people into the presence of God, where hearts are softened, minds are renewed, and lives are realigned with His purposes.
We believe that true worship extends beyond Sunday morning. A worshipping community is one that honours God in the marketplace, in the home, and in the quiet moments of daily life — offering every action and every relationship as a living sacrifice to the One who is worthy of all praise.
We are a church of the Book. The Bible is not merely a historical text or a set of moral guidelines — it is the living, active Word of God, "useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness" (2 Timothy 3:16). Every sermon, every Bible study, and every small group discussion is grounded in the faithful exposition of Scripture.
Our goal is not simply to fill heads with knowledge but to transform lives through truth. We want every person connected to Cristo Viene to become a confident, lifelong student of the Word — able to discern, apply, and share what they have learned with others.
Jesus declared that the second greatest commandment is to love our neighbour as ourselves. At Cristo Viene, we take that mandate seriously. Our outreach programs address food insecurity, social isolation, family breakdown, and the spiritual emptiness that underlies so many of the challenges facing people in Abbotsford today.
We partner with local organizations, community agencies, and fellow churches to multiply our impact. Service is not an add-on to our ministry — it is a core expression of who we are as followers of Christ, reflecting His compassion for the poor, the marginalized, and the forgotten.
The Great Commission calls us not just to make converts but to make disciples — "teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you" (Matthew 28:20). Discipleship at Cristo Viene happens in small groups, one-on-one mentoring relationships, leadership development programs, and the everyday life of our congregation.
We believe that every follower of Jesus is both a disciple and a discipler. Growth is not passive — it requires intentionality, accountability, and a willingness to invest in the lives of others. The goal is a church where mature believers are constantly raising up the next generation of faithful, fruitful Christ-followers.

Cristo Viene Baptist Church is deeply committed to the Great Commission — the call of Jesus to take the Gospel to "every nation, tribe, people, and language" (Revelation 7:9). We understand this to begin right here in Abbotsford, in the neighbourhoods surrounding our church building, and in the broader Fraser Valley community we call home.
Local mission for us means showing up — at community events, in local schools, at the food bank, and at the doors of neighbours who have never heard a word of grace. We believe that the most credible testimony to the truth of the Gospel is a community of people whose lives have been visibly changed by it.
At the same time, we support global mission efforts, partnering with missionaries and organizations who are carrying the light of Christ to the far corners of the world. We pray for the nations, give generously to global outreach, and celebrate every report of the Gospel advancing among unreached peoples.

This vision drives every program we launch, every relationship we invest in, and every prayer we lift to God. We are not building a church — we are building the Kingdom. And we believe that the best is yet to come.
Cristo Viene Baptist Church looks ahead with faith and expectation. As our community grows, as new families join our fellowship, and as the Holy Spirit continues to move in our midst, we hold fast to the promise that God who began a good work in us will carry it on to completion (Philippians 1:6).
